Guest performance by and with Mateja Meded
Note: This production contains descriptions of experiences of war, flight and violence.
Between Balkan rage and Berlin snark, a radically personal evening unfolds: loud, vulnerable, funny and highly political. Razor-sharp, this solo performance is directed against shame, conformity and cultural conformity. What happens when we no longer want to please?
"Fotzenschleimpower" is not a play. It is a ghetto rebellion with humor, a survival strategy, a collective cry against shame, conformity, class and cultural conformity.
As the first play of the festival weeks, Fotzenschleimpower sold out immediately. Not because it was good - but because it hit the spot. And perhaps also because, for the first time, it tells the story of what it means to be a woman with a refugee background in an empowering way, without victim-migrant urban theater folklore.
Between Balkan rage, Berlin snark, pop, trauma, body, desire and class reality, a radically personal performance unfolds: autofictional, loud, vulnerable, funny and unashamedly political.
A piece about Berlin - about origins, upward mobility, gentrification, precarity, contradiction and life in between.
Fotzenschleimpower reclaims the devalued, the slimy, the chavvy, the uncomfortable. It thinks ghettolectually, feels collectively and transforms powerlessness into agency.
What happens when we no longer want to please? When we tell our own stories - beyond high culture, shame and false class?
"Fotzenschleimpower" is an invitation to ally. Powerful. Wicked. Funny. Unpleasant. From us. For us.
Studio: not barrier-free / no late admission
