Gerhart Baum Menschenrechtspreis 2026 an Eren Keskin

Turkish-Kurdish human rights lawyer Eren Keskin, who lives in Istanbul, receives the "Gerhart Baum - Human Rights Award 2026" from the GERHART UND RENATE BAUM - STIFTUNG in Cologne, endowed with 10,000 euros. The prize commemorates the liberal German politician and human rights activist Gerhart Baum, who died in February 2025. The award goes to personalities who have made an exemplary commitment to the fight for human rights and against increasing racism and right-wing extremism, often at selfless and personal risk.

About the program: The laudator is the well-known investigative journalist and author Günter Wallraff. A film (excerpt) by Maria Binder shows the award winner in her working life. Music with Dilan Top & Ensemble. Moderator: Bettina Böttinger.
