Gewässerökologische Führung

In the organizer's words:

In this guided tour, you will learn about the importance of bodies of water and discover the hidden life in a drop of water.

With its various small bodies of water and the river that gives it its name, the Spreepark provides a habitat for many animal and plant species. The differences between the ecosystems of still and flowing waters are particularly evident here.

On this tour, we would like to explore these diverse bodies of water in and around the Spreepark together. First, we will take a look at the Spree and learn exciting facts about rivers. Then we will focus on one of the small stillwaters in the park. We then look at the water samples taken under magnification and discover how much life there is in a single drop of water. By identifying these organisms, we can also draw conclusions about the ecological status of the respective bodies of water.

Last but not least, we want to show why the protection of our waters is so important and how each and every one of us can contribute to preserving these valuable habitats.
