At a time when even entire rock bands are generated by AI, Holy Fuck are more relevant than ever. The Canadian quartet stands for electronic music with human energy. Instead of laptops and rigid loops, they rely on elements played as live as possible, improvisation and raw percussion. Their music thrives on chaos, spontaneity and the shared moment - this is exactly what makes their pulsating, unconventional sound so special.

Six years after their last album *Deleter*, Brian Borcherdt, Graham Walsh, Matt McQuaid and Matt Schulz reunited in 2022 in a remote hall in Nova Scotia after a long separation. It was actually just for rehearsals - but new ideas quickly emerged, from which *Event Beat* was eventually born. Seclusion, living together and a focus on music without distraction characterized the creation process.

Despite challenges such as power cuts and noise-sensitive neighbors, the album developed organically. Although at times they thought of a quieter ambient record, *Event Beat* ultimately became dynamic, groovy and full of energy. The opener "Evie" combines bass, punk-funk and synths, while tracks like "Gold Flakes" and "Czar" feature typical holy fuck jams with experimental details. "Elevate" picks up on euphoric techno influences.

Vocals remain deliberately abstract, guest vocals are largely absent - the album works without them. The band received additional attention through the rediscovery of older songs in series and films. Overall, *Event Beat* shows that Holy Fuck continue to possess a unique and timeless relevance through cohesion, live playing and creative freedom.
