The curtailment of fundamental civil liberties has characterized political and social developments in Iran for decades. In addition to opposition activists, repression also affects journalists, lawyers and large sections of civil society. Political events are currently exacerbating the repression. At the same time, there is hardly any independent information from Iran due to the constantly restricted internet, and important communication channels are blocked for the people there.

As hosts of the podcast "Political Prisoners in Iran",Daniela Sepehri and Mariam Claren will talk live about current developments and the question of what role international publicity and attention play in dealing with human rights violations.
