Chamber music by George Frideric Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach

Johannes Friederich, whom we have already had the pleasure of getting to know as an up-and-coming conductor, is continuing his studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis after successfully completing his master's degree in church music and as maestro al harpsichord. His main subject is the harpsichord, although ensemble music-making also traditionally plays a central role at the Schola. Together with musician friends from Stuttgart and Basel, Johannes Friederich presents the rousing Whitsun cantata Schmückt das frohe Fest mit Maien by Telemann (1681-1757), complemented by chamber music by his famous colleagues of almost the same age: Bach and Handel (*1685).
