Arkansas State University is home to no less than five choirs. This year, its chamber choir, made up of students from a wide range of disciplines and members of the university, is touring Germany. The ensemble, known for its youthful energy and high musical quality, presents American, German and English choral music. The central theme will be William Byrd's (1543-1623) solemn and festive Mass for Three Voices. Some of the works from the USA are virtually unknown in Europe, such as I Wanna Be Ready by Prof. Rosephanye Powell (*1962), choral music composer, singer, conductor and researcher.
