"The bird has found a home - and the swallow her nest." This poetic sentence from Psalm 84 is emblematic of a program that focuses on psalm settings of the 20th and 21st centuries. Georg Grün, Professor of Conducting at the Saarland University of Music, demonstrates a keen sense of which contemporary works will enrich the repertoire of the best chamber choirs - such as Kyrie after Byrd (2015) by British composer Roxanna Panufnik (*1968) or And the Swallow (2017) by Caroline Shaw (*1982). The composer, violinist and singer from the USA was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2013 and is now also known for her film scores.
