Easy. What Mark Twain or Voltaire elevated to a literary art form can also be practiced with grit by a master of sound: one artist, several names, many facets. With Gabor Schablitzki alias Robag Wruhme, however, this does not necessarily have anything to do with playing hide and seek. Whether Robag Wruhme, Rolf Oksen, Themroc or Die Dubrolle: his various pseudonyms are simply playgrounds for different ideas and sounds.

A quick run-through hardly does justice to his eventful career, but for once it has to be: There was this flashing movie called Beat Street, which introduced the youthful Schablitzki to music in GDR times, closely followed by breakdancing. There was Kassablanca, which needed a civilian to do the bookkeeping. The music maniac initially made a name for himself at home with chilled DJ sets, co-founding Freude am Tanzen and the Fat Plastic record store.

Since the early 2000s at the latest, he has also been shaking up the electronic scene beyond the borders of Thuringia. Together with Sören Bodner aka Monkey Maffia, he formed the DJ duo Wighnomy Brothers for over a decade - during and after which time his creative spirit increasingly roamed clubs and festival venues as Robag Wruhme.

As such, he impresses nationally and internationally with versatile tracks and remixes, touring Japan and South America, among other places, and creating four albums with unconventional titles. The fact that the name for one of his masterpieces, Wuzzelbud KK, originates from a vodkalaune is just as much a part of the legendary DJ and producer as the naming of Venq Tolep - without a hint of a deeper meaning or even translation. And the tracks themselves also beguile with originality: no formula F, a few rough edges, attention to detail and a good dose of eccentricity.

Live, of course, all this has to become a total work of art. So it's a good thing that his sound is now making a detour to Kassablanca, not only geographically but also biographically. Between club culture and a home-game atmosphere, his keen sense of rhythm, texture and mood should come into its own. In short, the call to action: Come. Dance. Chill out. Smile. Thank you.
