Summers belong to Lou and his charismatic friend Raf, whose attraction no one can resist, least of all Lou. But this time it's different: blonde Nora also gets in the car with them to the Danish coast. In an old vacation home in the dunes, the three of them live out the day, jumping into the waves, smoking, cooking and stroking each other. What seems like a carefree vacation from the outside slowly opens up dark abysses in this new constellation. Lou is suddenly no longer sure: does Raf still want to be close to him or does he despise him for his devotion? And why does Nora disappear one afternoon without a word? Ann-Christin Kumm's debut is a psychologically masterfully constructed and erotically shimmering play with power, manipulation and desire.

Ann-Christin Kumm works as a gardener and copywriter and lives in Berlin. "Ultramarin" is her first novel.
