Singer, songwriter, producer, but also comic author, illustrator and DJ - there is hardly a creative field that the Canadian multi-instrumentalist Valerie Anne Poxleitner, better known as Lights, does not play in. She cannot be pigeonholed, neither creatively nor in terms of her profession - a diversity that is also and above all reflected in the Canadian's rich sound. From her self-titled debut EP from 2008 onwards, Lights uncompromisingly combines elements of pop, dance, indie, electro and rock in her tracks. A mixture that combines enormous intensity and urgency. A year later, she not only received the Juno Award for "Best New Artist", but also released her debut album "The Listening", a synth-pop work that impresses with its personal songwriting. Six further albums have been released over the years - longplayers that have impressed with their creative approaches and sometimes unconventional realizations, including the 2017 work "Skin & Earth", which was accompanied by a graphic novel series of the same name. The current work "A6EXTENDED" will be released at the end of January this year and is an extension of "A6", which was released last year. Lights' musical talent is not only reflected in his own releases, but also in his many collaborations. From Steve Aoki to Travis Barker and Linkin Park, Lights has already collaborated with many well-known artists - and has simultaneously sharpened and enriched her own musical repertoire, which now has over 100 million streams. This is unprecedented on "A6EXTENDED". The deluxe version mixes 80s retro pop sounds and catchy melodies with Lights' typical synth sound and supplements the original with eight additional tracks. More than enough material to fill a world tour - and that's exactly what Lights are planning to do this year. The Canadian will be coming to Europe in May with her "Come Get Your Girl" tour and will also be stopping off in Germany for three dates.
