Lutz van Dijk: Die weite Welt. New York bis Kapstadt

In the organizer's words:

It all begins at the age of 18 in New York: a stranger, unemployed, gay - with only 50 dollars in his pocket. But then he meets people: a cleaning lady in Manhattan, a refugee from Haiti. His first job: bus driver in Pennsylvania.

From there, Lutz van Dijk takes us with him into "the wide world". Until today. No longer a stranger. At home in different countries, on different continents. A plea for the right to a home - anywhere in the world.

Lutz van Dijk wrote his doctoral thesis on teacher behavior during the Nazi era and became a member of staff at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam in 1992. Since 2001, he and his husband have been involved in a township project in Cape Town and are internationally committed to the peace and LGBTIQ+ movement.

Frank Schäfer wrote his doctorate on Lichtenberg and lives as an author, music and literary critic in Braunschweig.
