Male Tears is a Los Angeles-based three-piece weirdo pop and dark synth project led by singer-songwriter James Edward. Formed after the pandemic, the band quickly became a prominent name in the modern darkwave and synth-pop underground scene - known for their blend of camp aesthetics, emotional flair and dancefloor melancholy. The group first attracted attention with their eponymous debut album from 2021, which has since achieved cult status with its fusion of glittering synth-pop nostalgia and melodramatic, tongue-in-cheek songwriting. This was followed by "Trauma Club" (2021) and "KRYPT" (2023), two albums that delved deeper into dark club textures and romantic melancholy and cemented the band's position within the alternative electronic scene. Their album "Paradísco" (2024), on the other hand, marked a bold turn towards Italo disco, Hi-NRG and neon-colored pop maximalism.
