Midsommar Vibes

On June 20, 2026, we not only celebrate the official start of summer, but also Midsommar - probably the most magical festival in the north! In Sweden, the summer solstice is celebrated with music, dancing and flower wreaths. We bring this unique atmosphere to the Maschinenfabrik and invite you to an afternoon where we celebrate the start of the summer months together!

What you can expect:

2 CONCERTS (from 16:30)
The folk duo AKLEJA explores musically what is close to their hearts: Nature, encounters and touching moments. Inspired by Swedish dance music and old music books, the two develop a lively folk language - using only nyckelharpa, guitar and cittern.

The fantastic singer/songwriter NIKA JONSSON will enchant you with a mixture of pop and jazz, inspired by Nordic folklore. With keyboard, synth, harmonizer and vocoder she creates a unique atmosphere. Her songs - in German, Swedish and English - tell of trolls, elves, aliens and humans and take you into a world full of magic.

BLUMENKRANZ BINDING (from 15:30)
What would Midsommar be without flower wreaths? In our small workshop, you can make your own beautiful Midsummer wreath from freshly cut flowers and meadow flowers. We have everything you need on site - all you have to do is bring your creativity!

SWEDISH DELICACIES
Of course, there will also be culinary highlights: In addition to classic cinnamon buns, other Nordic delicacies await you. There will also be tasty summer drinks to transport you to Scandinavian lightness.
