Moses Yoofee Trio (DE)

The German jazz band Moses Yoofee Trio, which has earned an exceptional reputation since its foundation in 2020 and was awarded the prestigious "Live Act of the Year" prize at the German Jazz Prize in 2024, is a guest in the tent!

Writing and performing have always been the focus for the trio. The 13 tracks on their latest album MYT bear witness to a remarkable determination to condense their music to the essentials and give their extraordinary talents and elegant versatility room to unfold. They formulate their goals succinctly as "emotions, moments and bangers", taking great care in the arrangements to leave out anything superfluous. While most of the songs on their debut EP Ocean were written and arranged spontaneously, this time the trio took the opportunity to write more parts for each song and give the melodies more space.

Privately, they hardly have any time to be together. They meet up whenever their busy schedules allow. Moses and Roman often work with Berlin chart-topper Peter Fox, whom they accompany on extensive solo tours. Noah, on the other hand, plays with German-American rapper Casper, Swedish musician Petter Eldh and German comedian, actor and musician Teddy Teclebrhan.

Despite their intense work ethic, there is no shortage of fun. "Rehearsals can be pretty chaotic," they say. "We jam, try out new ideas, and if one brings a special mood, we write a song around it. Pieces often change when we play them live.(...) In the end, it's a mixture of intuition, hard work and fun."

The concert is unseated. (But there are seats in the stands for early birds)
