Anton Corbijn is one of the most influential photographers of our time. For more than four decades, he has shaped the visual language of contemporary music through his photographs, music videos and films.

The retrospective Corbijn, Anton traces the artist's photographic career from the 1970s to the present day. It also highlights his continuous reinvention and his deep personal engagement with the people portrayed. We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition.

Celebrate the opening with us! We're turning the museum into a party! Experience rousing live acts by Anika, Drangsal, Isolation Berlin, Sally Dige and other artists, accompanied by DJ sets by DJ Hell, Daisy Weweh and co.Highlight of the evening: an exclusive artist talk with Anton Corbijn, who will give you a look behind the scenes of his legendary work. Afterwards, the party continues throughout the museum.

ARTIST TALK: ANTON CORBIJN AND HERBERT GRÖNEMEYER

The conversation between Anton Corbijn and Herbert Grönemeyer, moderated by Hadnet Tesfai, explores the long-standing collaboration between photographers and musicians. It sheds light on both perspectives: the photographer behind the camera and the artist in front of the camera. Anton Corbijn shows how he translates music and central messages into visual storytelling - through portraits, music videos and books. While Herbert Grönemeyer reflects on how images reinforce and shape the impact of his work.

From established local and international acts to up-and-coming talents from Berlin's always vibrant music scene, our music program begins directly after the talk. We open the exhibition with a curated line-up that breathes life into Corbijn's photographic imagery. The sounds are rooted in post-punk, new wave and rock and reflect the shadowy atmosphere and emotional density that characterize his visual work.
