QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

The event

The tour presents the biographies of queer Jewish people who were deported from Hamburg to ghettos and concentration camps at the denk.mal Hannoverscher Bahnhof memorial site.

Queer victims of the Holocaust have long been a blank space in remembrance and research. Under National Socialism, they were often subjected to double persecution. Later, their stories were ignored and not heard, their queer identities made invisible. The tour presents the biographies of queer Jewish people who were deported from Hamburg to ghettos and concentration camps at the denk.mal Hannoverscher Bahnhof memorial site.
