In the organizer's words:

QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

The event

Experience St. Pauli differently: Queer neighborhood walk with history, scene insider knowledge and surprising places - including a pub stop at Hamburg's oldest gay bar

Queer bars, travesty shows and trans-gay-lesbian history: you will get to know the queer side of the Reeperbahn area and end up in St. Pauli's oldest gay bar. This is not an entertainment show, but a tour with consideration and respect. You will gain insights into St. Pauli's queer history, take a look behind the scenes of the red light district and hear anecdotes about a part of the city that has much more to offer than the usual mainstream culture.

The tour guide is Christiane. She is 58 years old and has been a queer activist in Hamburg for 20 years and has been touring Hamburg's Kiez for 7 years with her own tour "Queer durch St. Pauli".
