QUEERHISTORYMONTH
QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!
The event
This special edition of the queer writing workshop invites you to rediscover queer history and literature: well-known voices, forgotten stories and your own perspectives. Write freely, share thoughts and together create an open space for queer voices and creative forms of expression today.
May is QueerHistoryMonth - and we want to explore it together with you through writing.
For this special edition of our queer writing workshop, we invite you to engage with queer history and literary history: with well-known voices, forgotten stories, your own references or completely new perspectives. Whether inspired by historical figures, literary role models or personal thoughts - everything is welcome.
As always, you can write whatever you feel like - prose, poetry, diary or fragments. It's not about perfection, but about creating an open, appreciative space together in which queer voices can be heard and recorded.
Come along, bring your ideas or be inspired on site. We look forward to writing history with you.
