Anonymization sounds simple: names out, data in. In practice, however, it is much trickier. Modern attack methods can often expose supposedly anonymous data. Andrea Fieschi, PhD student at the Institute for Parallel and Distributed Systems at the University of Stuttgart, shows you why this is really the case, why good intentions are often not enough when it comes to anonymization and what it takes to get it right.
