Sinfonia de Carnaval

Sinfonia de Carnaval is the duo Anna Lang and Alois Eberl on cello, trombone, accordion, percussion, electronics and vocals. Inspired by the expressive, sonic discourse of jazz as well as elements of rock and funk, the duo explores electronic sound universes and at the same time draws on the entire spectrum of classical playing techniques.

The virtuoso and independent duo takes the audience into a multi-layered world of musical storytelling. Musical portraits, narratives and euphonic snapshots unfold in relentless grooves, brutal dramatic scenes, vast fields of improvisation and moments of pure spontaneity.

In 2015, the duo was nominated for the BAWAG P.S.K. Next Generation Award as one of the five best bands in Austria, selected by the Austrian Federal Ministry in the jazz category for the New Austrian Sound of Music Program 2018/19 and awarded the Promotion for Excellence of the Federal Chancellery of the Republic of Austria (FOCUS ACT 2019).
