In SoundSwitch, light becomes the musicians' central playing partner. When does music sound - when does it fall silent? Who determines the moment? An improvisational concert full of interaction and luminous impulses.
With SoundSwitch, the Bagatelli Trio - Sophia Oertel (violin), Sira Pellicer (saxophone) and Corentin Bezençon (cello) - invites you to an immersive improvisation concert in which the audience becomes part of the musical action. Three controllable spotlights allow the audience to actively intervene in the music and influence the mood in the room. The result is a unique, non-reproducible experience of sound, light and shared interaction.
BAGATELLI TRIO
The Bagatelli Trio was formed at the Zurich University of the Arts as part of Lucas Niggli's ImproPool courses and has been exploring the possibilities of improvised music for this line-up since 2023. The trio made its first appearance at the Long Night 2024 with the project "BagatellRelikte", a series of improvised trio and duo pieces in the form of bagatelles. This was followed by further concerts at the Werkstatt für Improvisierte Musik Zürich (WIM), Raum 236 and again at the Lange Nacht 2025, where SoundSwitch celebrated its premiere.
Sophia Oertel (born 1997, Germany) is at home as a violinist in various musical fields and is constantly trying to expand her artistic portfolio. Her musical career began in Dresden and led her via the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and the Royal Danish Academy of Music to Zurich and the ZHdK, where she successfully completed her Master's degree in 2025. Sophia has been a member of the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen since mid-2025. In addition to her mainstay as an orchestral musician, she enjoys performing contemporary and improvised music and devising her own innovative concert formats - e.g. with her violin duo duo micans (Wuppertal).
Corentin Bezençon (born 2003, Switzerland) is a cellist and completed his bachelor's degree at the Zurich University of the Arts in Martina Schucan's class in June 2025. He is increasingly specializing in chamber music and improvised music. He has already taken part in the Swiss Youth Music Competition several times, where he has won top prizes both solo and in chamber music formations.
Sira Pellicer (born 2000, Spain) is a Spanish saxophonist who specializes in classical and contemporary music. She has been awarded international prizes such as the Kiefer Hablitzel Musik Göhner Prize, the Peregrinos Musicales Award or La Caixa Fellowships Abroad. She also works in the field of chamber music, especially as a saxophone quartet with the Lítore Quartet, promoting new music and exploring new concert formats.
