With Formfragen, we highlight innovative filmmaking, new digital aesthetics or exhibition formats that complement our classic cinema experience. In this
edition, the Ariadne thread is not only physically interwoven in the Filmhaus Köln, but also becomes the leitmotif for the question: What is feminist storytelling?

In the panel, we take up the thread and ask: What is the essence of feminist curating and why must women be able to afford curatorial work today?

PANEL: Dream without a job? How do we become feminist film curators?
Curating comes from curare - to take care. So if we also understand the curatorial gut feeling as one that takes care of its work, then the question arises: What actually constitutes queer-feminist curating? We also understand it as film historiography beyond the official canon from an emancipatory, power-critical perspective. But how do you get to these films when there is a lack of knowledge and training centers and FLINTA* films are generally less visible? Archive work determines the structure of the program, as does an openness to non-linear narrative styles and the question of what we can learn through body knowledge. Ultimately, the curator also operates in a precarious working environment. How can we promote young talent when career opportunities are so rare and competition is increasing?
