Music is the universal language in which all people understand each other. Music connects people across national and linguistic borders. And music makes you strong: it gives you a presence, a voice, makes you unmistakable. Orchestras, choirs and bands are communities in which a colorful mixture of people often seek harmony with one another, regardless of age, gender or nationality: the only thing that counts here is mastering an instrument or one's own voice and listening to one another: Which instrument, which voice narrates the main part at this point in the composition, who should only accompany quietly here - and then take the lead elsewhere?
"Only if you love the possible - can you discover the impossible..." Michaela Dietl
Interviews & music followed by a jam session - feel free to bring your own instruments!
Management & moderation: Katrin Richthofer
Speakers:
Michaela Dietl (Head of Quetschenweiber)
Mascha (Ukrainian squeezebox woman)
Nayla Raflikova (Russian choir singer)
Music: Quetschenweiber(http://www.quetschenweiber.de/)
The Quetschenweiber have been making music together since 2005. In addition to having fun together with European street music, "Empowerment through music!" is a motto. One song is about Equal Pay Day, the Female Tango tells of violence against women, the song of the Italian women's movement gives courage.
Even before the war in Ukraine, Mascha joined the band as a new member with new songs from her home country Ukraine - in return, the Quetschenweiber have given Mascha a piece of home in her new country.
Nayla has also been in Germany for many years - and as soon as she arrived in Munich from Russia, she started looking for a choir: The Munich Women's Choir, in which she has now been making music for 25 years, together with two French women, an Italian woman, a Chinese woman and many German singers.
We want to talk to Mascha, Michaela and Nayla about making music together as a source of strength. And to encourage everyone to oil their vocal chords, pick up a triangle, accordion or saxophone and seek out and experience the power of making music together and the community with others - at the subsequent jam session and in everyday life!

"The focal points of our events are an expression of an artistic-political stance that is not content with symptoms, but rather addresses the historical and structural depths of social inequality.
The overall project creates platforms for artistic presence, intellectual discourse and networking in solidarity. It is an expression of a feminism that does not divide, but reaches deeper - towards collective self-determination, cultural diversity and structural justice. The series of events invites us to break the silence together and to counter the social strengthening of authoritarian and exclusionary forces with a powerful, solidary response. "
