Swing Manouche: Eva sur Seine & Harry Diplock Quartet

You can feel her aura even before Eva Scholten, alias Eva sur Seine, steps up to the microphone. And when she then begins to sing with charm, a warming timbre and elegance, when this storyteller effortlessly oscillates between French chanson, swing and jazz manouche, the audience is hopelessly at her mercy, even addicted. Eva sur Seine became famous for her version of Une belle Histoire, which she will hopefully also perform when she makes a guest appearance with British guitar ace Harry Diplock and their quartet.

Eva sur Seine and Harry Diplock are carried by a rhythm section that is as precise as it is open, that swings with soul and gives every piece of music the necessary pulse and breath. It consists of bassist Julia Hornung, who also curates the Swing Manouche series, and the congenial guitarist Giangiacomo Rosso.
