This is how the Second World War ended for the Kempowski family in Rostock. Before that lies the life of a middle-class, conservative family under Nazi rule: two rebellious sons, a complaining mother, a father as a career officer - and thus the story of the author Walter Kempowski himself.
In his novel of the same name, a textbook about a family that was ambivalent about Nazi rule, Kempowski tells a story that is serious, entertaining and funny at the same time.
A story from the past, but highly topical: where do we come from and where are we going?
In addition to the novel by Walter Kempowski, there is also the film adaptation "Tadellöser & Wolff" starring Ina Seidel and Albert Lieven, which was successfully broadcast on German television in the 1970s.
