Tears and Denial & Ruin Ruin

In the organizer's words:
TEARS&DENIAL
Sad & Horny Wave

Postmodernism remains oblivious to history, which is why the Mark Fisher bible should be locked in the dessert drawer and your hands left above the ceiling when listening to TEARS&DENIAL. Between bedroom wave and EBM to touch, the young duo from Leipzig synthesizes various influences of a dead generation:

Since 2022, the two inconsolables have been digging uninhibitedly into the shallows of the gothic bag of tricks and creating - reluctantly to convincingly eclectic - spherical to aggressive songs from everything that makes post-punk, wave, EBM & industrial so catchy: creaky to drone-ish synths, sustaining riffs and reverberating vocals.

With their first fresh demo tapes, TEARS&DENIAL are no longer just chasing through the underground of the eastern republic, but are also happy to show up in the west to ask people to move with their charismatically appealing sound mix...

Ruin Ruin

New Wave * Modern Synth Pop

"London called and said we ain't got no high, except in the votes for the new far right" -

RUIN RUIN from Leipzig makes New Wave music in which he combines his punk past with a contemporary take on pop music.

Having first felt a sense of belonging through punk at the age of 11, RUIN RUIN began to take the guitar seriously when he started playing in his first band at 13. Several years of basement gigs, DIY recordings and good memories later, he decided to make a radical change and left the band to study jazz guitar at the Hochschule für Musik in Leipzig with the aim of becoming a better musician. Independently of his studies, he produced his own songs with Ableton for years. RUIN RUIN now brings together all these strands - from punk origins to alternative pop, from acoustic to electronic music - and is clearly located in New Wave: where jazz training and punk socialization meet in the experimental and dance-oriented. With its synth and sample-heavy sounds and lyrics that alternate between ironic, cynical and political, the music evokes memories of the 1980s. Often compared to classics such as Talking Heads or New Order, however, there are also less obvious roots: the irresistibly simple basslines of James Brown, the variously playful synthesizers of Little Dragon or the curious experimentalism of Jungle and Hyperpop.

In 2023, RUIN RUIN - at that time still under the name David Wunderlich - released his recording debut first they've BUILT their WALLs on cassette via the Leipzig-based independent label UNTERSCHALL. The EP was mentioned on ByteFM, brisant, in the Süddeutsche Zeitung and in furio magazine. The renaming to RUIN RUIN in December 2024 was accompanied by monthly single releases, which culminated in the release of the second EP THOUGHTS & PRAYERS TO THE INVISIBLE HAND in June 2025 and has been celebrated at his concerts ever since...
