Topos Jam: Real Book (Jazz) Session (Mitmachen erwünscht!) - Topos Leverkusen

Do you play an instrument or sing? Do you fancy live music, want to try yourself out or simply jam spontaneously with others? Then TOPOS JAM is the right place for you! Our jam sessions at the TOPOS jazz club are aimed at anyone who enjoys music, meeting people and improvising - regardless of whether you are a student, play semi-professionally or just want to get back on stage.

How it works:
- Opener set
Each session begins with a short concert by a fixed band. This band provides the introduction and is then available as a backing band for anyone who wants to join in.
- Open stage
Afterwards, the stage is open for you! You can:
- Suggest your own song or a standard
- Join a spontaneous formation
- Or just listen and get a taste of it
- Real Book / Blues Scheme
In the jazz session we play pieces from the Real Book (please bring sheet music for your instrument in the correct tuning) and in the blues session we play classic 12-bar blues forms - also ideal for beginners!
We provide some lead sheets online that you can look at beforehand. You can find the link on our website.

The Real Book is a legendary collection of jazz standards - songs that have been played by jazz musicians all over the world for decades. It is the common songbook of the jazz scene.
