UNTER UNS - eine szenische Lesung*

UNTER UNS by Malte Schwoch - a staged reading*

In all roles: Director Lena Katzer, actor Christian Freund, puppeteer Mia Lehrnickel and author Malte Schwoch.

UNTER UNS is about the personal entanglements of three peculiar sisters and a scrap dealer in the depths of an abandoned village near a brown coal mine. One thing is (more or less) clear to all four of them: the excavator has to go. But the story of love and intrigue is a game of Russian roulette in which one of the four people falls victim to their own plan.

Malte Schwoch's play was written on the edge of an open-cast mine on the Lower Rhine and is somewhere between a village tragedy and a 90s soap opera. Malte actually prefers to speak through his characters. On this evening, he talks to his characters in order to finally turn the text into theater - and to find a solution for the theatrical demolition of a giant bucket-wheel excavator on the stage of the Rabbit Hole Theater.

*InTheater-Deutschland it was agreed that for a SCENIC READING you need at least one table, one chair, one lamp and one glass of water per person reading. Sitting at the table, the reading is then SCENIC, which means that the people READ a text that was intended by the author to be PLAYED. In other words, with few resources but a lot of impetus, the text is given a STAGE with voice.
