Werner Acker trifft Thimo Niesterok

Thimo Niesterok (trumpet/flugelhorn)

Thimo Niesterok (*1996) is one of the outstanding voices of the young German jazz scene. As a trumpeter, he fascinates not only with his extraordinary musicality, but also with his passion for swing and mainstream jazz.
Niesterok's warm, nuanced tone and unmistakable phrasing lend his musical language a special depth that delights both long-time jazz fans and new and especially young listeners alike.

Already during his studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance, his concert activities took him to India and South Korea, among other places, and twice to Japan as a winner of the Kobe Jazz Street Award.

His music has already been released on several of his own albums: the debut album "First Clambake" was released in 2017, followed by "Two Talkin' Horns" in 2019, a joint project with trombone legend Dan Barrett (USA). In 2023, his latest album "Stepping Forward" was released on the long-established German label MONS Records.

Over the course of his career, Niesterok has worked with renowned artists such as Dan Barrett, Scott Hamilton, Engelbert Wrobel, Chris Hopkins, Emil Mangelsdorff, Rossano Sportiello, Thilo Wagner, Joscho Stephan, Frank Roberscheuten and the Glenn Miller Orchestra, among many others.
