30. Leipziger Typotage

In the organizer's words:

A sound can touch, irritate, connect. So can typography!

For its 30th anniversary, the Leipziger Typotage is focusing on the relationship between type and sound - on the Sound of Type. Because typography can be experienced not only visually: it has rhythm, tempo, volume and pauses. What does typography sound like? What acoustic, musical or linguistic qualities are contained in letters, words and typefaces? And how do sound, voice and rhythm influence our perception of type?

The Leipziger Typotage are an event organized by the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Druckkunst Leipzig e.V. and take place in the Museum für Druckkunst, an active museum that brings historical casting, setting and printing processes to life in a workshop atmosphere.
