This musical evening is dedicated to the golden 20s in the heart of Berlin, especially to the creative power of the gifted composer Friedrich Holländer.
Friedrich Holländer, born on October 18, 1896 in London, was born as a circus child, his father was the conductor of a music band in the Barum @Baily circus.
The family came to Berlin at the turn of the century. In the 1920s, he joined Max Reimann's famous Berline cabaret "Schall und Rauch" in Berlin's Friedrichstraße as a "house composer".
It was here that he met his future wife Blandine Ebinger, with whom he founded his own cabaret, the Berlin Tingel Tangel, in 1933.
He made himself and Marlene Dietrich world-famous with the song "Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt" from the film "Der blaue Engel".
But that's not all: he wrote the famous Berlin songs "Lieder Eines armen Mädchens" for his wife Blandine Ebinger.
In 1933, he had to flee to America to escape the Nazis.
