What remains when a person you never got to know is missing? It is precisely this void that author Laurette Fekl addresses in her new work "In Search of the Lost Father" - a haunting literary search for traces between personal history and the upheavals of the 20th century.

At the center of the story is Christine, whose life is marked by an absence: her unknown father. The search for him becomes a journey through time, memory and origins - and ultimately leads to France, where surprising family connections with Armenian roots are revealed.

Fekl does not tell this story in a linear fashion, but as a multi-layered web of fact and fiction. The result is a dual family biography that links individual lives with historical upheavals and catastrophes. It is precisely this hybrid narrative style that lends the text a special intensity: personal and contemporary history intertwine and make it clear how much identity is shaped by origin, loss and memory.

The book premiere offers the opportunity to experience this impressive story live for the first time. In her reading, the author will present key passages and provide insights into the creation of the book.
