Hundreds of thousands follow Aljosha on Instagram and YouTube. As one of the "Fab5" at Queer Eye Germany, he has encouraged people to be true to themselves. But how does he manage to remain authentic, honest and good in an industry characterized by filters, hate and hate speech?

In his long-awaited book, Aljosha provides intimate insights into his life. For the first time, he speaks openly about the most formative phases of his life and shares his most personal moments: he talks about the deep shame and fear that accompanied his coming out and the constant feeling of "not being normal". He talks about the pressure to perform, self-doubt and the search for mental health in a world that demands performance.

Aljosha shows how his own biography - being queer, dealing with privilege and toxic masculinity - has shaped his political engagement and his approach to social media. He reflects on why it is so difficult to remain authentic online and how animal welfare, the climate crisis and social justice are inextricably linked for him.

This book is both an autobiography and a social analysis. An honest book about the search for meaning and the attempt to remain human online and offline without losing oneself.

Aljosha Muttardi is a doctor, podcaster and influencer. He became known as one of the Fab5 in the Netflix series Queer Eye Germany, which won the Grimme Special Award in 2023. He publicly campaigns for more social justice, focusing on topics such as veganism, racism, equality and mental health. Aljosha is trying to bring more honesty, transparency and authenticity into the social media bubble - self-deprecating, humorous and without any finger-wagging.
