Das Haus

In the organizer's words:

The House is an object theater piece with an overhead projector about origins, history and belonging, in which projection, voice and the performer's body become a palimpsest mosaic. The confrontation with the origins of her Russian-German grandparents, their roles in the aftermath of the October Revolution, in the Second World War, the Soviet Republic and post-war Germany are made visible and transferred to the present.

Pia Alena Wagner creates an emphatic space in which the complexity of German identity and the historical entanglements with National Socialism are addressed insistently, carefully and yet impressively.
