FILMNACHT Schloss Benrath "The Favourite"

The Benrath Palace and Park Foundation invites you to the first of two special open-air film nights in the inner courtyard of the east wing of Benrath Palace. The multi-award-winning historical drama "The Favourite" by Giorgos Lanthimos will be shown. The film was awarded the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Olivia Colman), among others.

This stylistically unusual work tells of power, intrigue and dependencies at the English court in the 18th century. At the center is Queen Anne, impressively embodied by Olivia Coleman, surrounded by rivalries, manipulations and political intrigues - staged with sharp wit, visual elegance and psychological depth. At her side, Emma Stone shines as Abigail, a noble but impoverished lady-in-waiting who fights for favor, influence and her own dignity at the royal court.
