Claude Debussy's "Images" are a masterpiece of tonal colors. Music full of movement, light and atmosphere unfolds in dazzling orchestral images - seemingly folkloristic in character, but intended less as a landscape painting than as a transformation of impressions into emotional resonances. Debussy described it as "immaterial": the orchestra sounds like a crystal, light and floating. This tonal sensitivity is echoed in the world premiere of Uriel Herman's suite "Tikkun" for piano and orchestra. The title refers to the idea of "repairing" the world: an interplay of spiritual depth and ethical responsibility. A classically notated orchestral movement is combined with flexible solo parts - a sound space that unites opposites and understands music as a shared experience. Those who would like to experience the classically trained Israeli jazz pianist and composer Uriel Herman even more closely will have the opportunity to do so the following day at "Philharmonie trifft Jazz" /JN
