Thomas (Christoph Maria Herbst) is astonished: freshly released from prison, the shrewd real estate fraudster learns that he has inherited a house from his unknown mother - and it's worth a lot. If he could sell it, nothing would stand in the way of a fresh start in Spain. There's just one catch: his half-brother Roland (Nico Randel) already lives in the house. A fan of oldies, weightlifting and sporty convertibles, with a steady job and trisomy 21. The fact that Roland enjoys a lifelong right of residence - no problem! Thomas settles in and uses his entire manipulative repertoire to force his unloved roommate out of the house. But Roland proves to be strong-willed and counters Thomas' tactics with courage and passion. He slowly wins the heart of his half-brother, who realizes that there is nothing more important in life than a home. Is there a heart beating in his chest after all?

"Whole Half Brother" celebrated its premiere at the Munich Film Festival. The "delightful comedy of contrasts" (The Spot Film & Media) was supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, among others. Director Hanno Olderdissen ("Lassie - Ein neues Abenteuer", "Zurück aufs Eis", "Wendy 2") and writer Clemente Fernandez-Gil ("Die Einsamkeit des Killers vor dem Schuss", "Eine Insel namens Udo") met during their film studies at the ifs and are alumni of the 2nd year of the Bachelor's degree program in Film. In 2017, they made the feature film "Rock My Heart - Mein wildes Herz" together.

Nico Randel works as an actor for theater and film as well as an artist. His portrayal of Roland in "Ganzer halber Bruder" is his first leading role in a movie.
