Potsdamer Tanztage 2026 – The wind rises

In the organizer's words:

For Manuel Roque, the body is the fundamental instrument for experiencing the world. After bang bang from 2018, Manuel Roque returns to Potsdam with a reduced and equally physical solo. In constant movement, he also presents dance as a sensual work between resistance and surrender to the forces that set him in motion.

The body whirls around to a hypnotic soundtrack and tries to anchor itself in a naked space. It loses and finds its points of reference, swaying in both real and imagined currents in search of new points of support. The piece refers to the current gusts that shake our certainty in search of a liberating momentum. At the same time, it unfolds as a homage to the forces of nature - uncontrollable and intoxicating, provided we learn to follow them and experience them in the immediacy of our senses.
