QueerHistoryMonth | Queer History – persönlich erzählt von schwulen Vätern und Ehemännern | Pride Salon

In the organizer's words:

QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

The event

Gay fathers and husbands tell personal stories about late coming out, family and courage. Moving insights into lives between adjustment and self-discovery - with space for exchange, questions and networking in an open, respectful atmosphere.

In May, the Pride Salon is dedicated to QueerHistoryMonth - and invites you to a special evening that brings history to life.

Our guest is the Hamburg gay fathers' and husbands' self-help group, who will share their very personal perspectives on queer life then and now.

Why was the group founded? What issues moved them in the past - and which are still relevant today? What does coming out late in life mean for your own life, for your spouse and children? And how do you find the right words for such an incisive conversation?

In addition to these questions, you can expect personal, biographical stories that touch, encourage and make the diversity of queer life realities tangible.

The evening thrives on exchange: come and talk to us, ask questions, share your thoughts and network in an open, respectful space.

The Pride Salon is a bi-monthly queer discussion format organized by Hamburg Pride e.V.. It offers space for exchange, discussion and encounters on topics related to queer life, history, culture and politics. The aim of the format is to get people talking to each other and to strengthen queer perspectives in an open, supportive environment.
