The Black Atlantic - Work In The Dark Tour

After more than seven years away from the stage, The Black Atlantic, the intimate folk project of Dutch singer-songwriter Geert van der Velde, returns.

What began as a solitary, introspective project has quietly evolved into something bigger, deeper and more urgent. Now, for the first time in years, The Black Atlantic will be touring Germany and the Netherlands as a full band.

The concerts will revisit older material from the debut album Reverence For Fallen Trees and the EP Darkling, I Listen, songs that have grown far beyond their origins and have accompanied listeners through various stages of their lives. But this return is not just a look back. Alongside these familiar moments, new material will also be presented: first glimpses of an upcoming album planned for release in 2027. These songs are still in the making, unfinished, working in secret and only in the light of the stage will they begin to take shape.

This tour marks both a return and a transition: an opportunity to reconnect, reimagine and hear the new works van der Velde has been working on in the years away from the spotlight.
