A documentary about a secret British unit of undercover police spies:

For over 40 years, British undercover agents spied on people in the UK and many other countries. The police unit infiltrated more than 1,000 activist groups. To carry out their espionage activities, the police stole the identities of deceased children. Under false identities, they entered into relationships with women, had sexual contact and even fathered children. As soon as they had achieved their goals, they disappeared without a trace.

The truth about the department only slowly came to light after police informer Mark Kennedy, who had mainly targeted climate groups, was exposed in 2010. Since 2015, the events have been the subject of a judicial inquiry. Important hearings are being held in camera. However, several dozen real names of the police informers are now known.

The film shows the shocking extent of the spycops scandal. It becomes clear how the police unit became increasingly autonomous. Some of its officers were also deployed in Germany. Their superiors took an interest in Rudi Dutschke, anti-racist groups in West Germany and the organization against the 2007 G8 summit in Heiligendamm.

Several undercover agents have also been exposed in Catalonia and Spain in recent years. Some of these undercover agents were active for years, taking part in meetings and actions and also having sexual and romantic relationships with activists there.
