In Berlin, 50-year-old Italian Helena decides to change everything. She's been a cook all her life, now she's becoming a mortician! What is Helena of all people - eccentric, funny, fun-loving - looking for in the realm of the dead? The old-fashioned look of funeral homes, the standard ceremonies, the care of the dying and the bereaved: Helena is convinced, having been through it herself, that she can do better. Full of energy, she tries to implement her great ideas in her new job and her private life. But it's not that easy... The portrait of a humorous Berliner who, through her new profession as a mortician, asks herself (and us) questions about our relationship to grief and the dead.
