In this work, the French psychoanalyst demonstrates the structural nature of resentment in the human psyche. We will then discuss the possibilities of collectively overcoming resentment in view of the current social situation.

Resentment is the sad figure of our time - wherever you look, people and their concerns are being trampled underfoot by the arrogance of others. The current style of government and all social debates are aimed at devaluing people.
The French psychoanalyst Cynthia Fleury shows in her book Hier liegt Bitterkeit begraben. On resentment and its cure, French psychoanalyst Cynthia Fleury reveals the structural nature of resentment in the human psyche.
We would like to propose a form of public reading and discussion of Fleury's analysis that allows us to delve into the depths of psychoanalysis and understand the origins of resentment in order to reflect on how to overcome it. For the reading at the Kreuzberg Book Night, we will choose a playful, performative setting by "reading" the text equipped with a dictation machine and circling around it situationally. Afterwards, we will discuss the possibilities of collectively overcoming resentment in the face of the current social situation.
