Imagine you're watching a really good movie. One in which a lot happens, in which the plot is not a smoothly pureed mash-up. Quiet moments alternate with action and drama, there are highs and lows, unexpected turning points, little surprises - and a finale that is satisfying and yet has a lasting effect. The music is indispensable, indeed decisive for every scene and every emotion.

And now imagine Conic Rose 's album Wedding playing like a movie in front of you. Perhaps you will share this feeling: the different moods, moments and their sequences interlock perfectly. There are no consistent sequences, no predictable sound constellations - and, incidentally, no pigeonholes into which only jazz is stuffed and then closed again.

More happens here and there is plenty of room in the drawer - for example for rock, ambient, indie pop or electronica! For breaks, for friction, for moments of searching and finding. This does not mean that everything is planned from start to finish - on the contrary.

Very different paths are taken, musical experiments and improvisations are dared and nuances are honed. Some things are only recorded once - and then simply produced. An incredible amount of song creation happens on an intuitive level and in the end even the artistic creation group is sometimes surprised by the result. This is probably also the case with their new album: Wedding 's particular sound aesthetic is the result of "intuitive calculation and calculated intuition" is how the band describes it.

The band itself speaks of "barrier-free openness on all sides". And that's exactly what you hear. Their music does not follow a fixed plan - and that is precisely where its power lies. Trumpeter Konstantin Döben and pianist/keyboardist Johannes Arzberger - known from Clueso's band - meet guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Bertram Burkert, bassist Franziska Aller and drummer Nicholas Stampf. Together they create music that breathes, that expands, that cannot be pinned down. Synthy pads meet instrumental improvisations, fragile moments meet powerful outbursts. Everything is allowed to be, everything is allowed to change.
