Karin Krauthausen is a cultural scientist and researches the cultural, media and scientific history of material (from raw materials and materials-by-design to language, image and number) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Together with colleagues from the natural sciences and humanities, she has published anthologies including "Make it real. Für einen strukturalen Realismus" (Diaphanes 2020), "Active Materials" (De Gruyter 2021), "Modell Hütte "(Diaphanes 2021) and "Model and Mathematics" (Birkhäuser, 2022). Most recently, the anthology "Agriculture and Literature" (ed. with S. Kammer, Diaphanes 2025) was published. In the summer semester 2026 she is a fellow at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.
