Momo

An old, abandoned amphitheater lies between the newly built districts of the huge city. Momo lives here. Momo, the girl who is not poor at all, but rather rich in friendships. But something is suddenly different. Her friends no longer have time to play, solve puzzles and invent fantasy worlds. And more and more figures in gray suits are controlling the city on behalf of the Time Savings Bank. Momo has to do something! Master Hora, who watches over time, gives her the task of tracking down the terrifying suits and their cigars. With courage, a clever plan and the wise turtle Cassiopeia at her side, Momo fights for people's time.

Michael Ende's classic children's book from 1973 impressively depicts the consequences of time becoming an increasingly scarce resource due to optimization and how worthwhile it is to dawdle, let yourself drift and simply dream.
