QueerHistoryMonth | Pink Channel – Queere Clips, Geschichte(n) und Zeitreisen | Kinoabend

In the organizer's words:

QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

The event

Cinema evening with queer history: Pink Channel shows moving clips from Hamburg's community. Klaus-Dieter Begemann leads through five thematic blocks - from politics to culture to drag. Personal, lively and topical.

In this special event, Klaus-Dieter Begemann presents a selection of his most exciting Pink Channel contributions - entertaining, touching and always close to the action. A movie night between archive and present, between memory and visibility - lively, entertaining and full of queer perspectives on Hamburg's history.

The Pink Channel is a permanent fixture of queer media work in Hamburg. With a keen sense for social developments, a political stance and a view from the heart of the community, videographer Klaus-Dieter Begemann documents the city's queer life - today also with numerous contributions on YouTube. His clips tell of moving moments: political struggles, personal stories and pop-cultural highlights.

A curated selection of Pink Channel contributions will be shown. Five thematic blocks deal with literature and readings, the path to "marriage for all", defining stage moments around Corny Littmann, the Lesbian Gay Film Festival as well as drag and performance culture in the 21st century.

The clips shown reflect not only the diversity of the Hamburg scene, but also the power of queer visibility.
