QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

A young, queer film that explores topics such as abortion, lesbian motherhood, political resistance and everyday madness

Beatrice, an aspiring gynecologist, is looking for a balance to the stresses of the clinic in Berlin's nightlife. She meets Alex, who is juggling baby preparations with her partner and a wild life as a club manager. As if that wasn't enough, Alex also has to pay a fine for sunbathing topless in the park. An initially fluid encounter develops into an unexpected connection - characterized by self-discovery, solidarity and courageous rebellion against injustice.

A cool, young, queer film that explores topics such as abortion, lesbian motherhood, political resistance and everyday madness, playing with and thwarting our expectations.

The film will be followed by a discussion with denkTräume, which will provide a queer-historical context. The focus will be on §218 and the realities of lesbian life - then and now - and how struggles for self-determination, visibility and rights have changed over time. A special movie night that touches and lingers on.
