The Early Music Round Table takes a look at socio-economic barriers in early music and asks what they mean for our daily practice as musicians and organizers. Why do we often only reach a limited audience with our music? Why are training paths, networks and performance opportunities difficult to access for many - even for those already working in early music? Because exclusions affect not only the audience, but also ourselves: Working conditions, the recruitment of new talent, audience development and the future viability of our scene depend directly on who has access to it. Voices from the cultural sector, early music, academia and activism will explore these questions in individual contributions and discuss them in a concluding round table with all participants.
